The Jane Austen Trail is a walking route for visitors to get more out of their visit to Chawton and Alton. Jane Austen knew many of the people who lived in the area and often visited them. She left us with information about the people that lived in the many surviving houses that line the route from Chawton to Alton. These leaflets can be downloaded here or picked up in places in Alton as a free walking guide. There are also postcards available locally featuring the pictures on the leaflets.
